This project aims to answer two core questions: How to enhance the green density in modern urban environment? How to deal with the transition and connection between other urban programs with green.
Hong Qiao Green Field is an typical case that could be classified as ‘Dense but Isolated’ urban green area. During years of development, the surrounding area provides an complicated built environment. The site is challenging but with golden opportunities, however, the present situation of Hong Qiao Green Field failed to connect and transit with surrounding urban environment.
The paradigm of two congruent 50 % Artificiality | 50 % Green continuum that has its own separated system is explored through the study of triply periodic minimal surface and parametric variants. With the invariance of space logic, two disparate space intertwining into one existence, minimal surfaces is disassembled into constructible modules, which has most of its edges straight. The whole curved surface in this way can attach to a grid structural system.
